Most of the days I've been in Nepal have been spent in Kathmandu. In 2013 I branched out and visited Pokhara in the central part of the country and Muktinath in the heart of the Annapurna range north of Pokhara.

Whenever I visit Nepal I look for opportunities to view the Himalayas. I've expressed in the introduction to other photogalleries how elusive that pursuit has been for me. Nevertheless, no matter where in Nepal you are, you're always in the presence of this most powerful influence.

I may not get to see much of or take many pictures of the mountains themselves, but their impact can be seen in the lifestyle and faces of the Nepalese and in what their lives lead them to build. I think a lot of this influence comes through in the photographs - I know I'm exposed to it all through my sojourns there.
